The 19-1/2" tapered octagon barrel is fitted with very high custom scope blocks holding Leupold Vari-XIII 2.5-8 X scope with duplex reticle in Buehler rings. Blued Martini action, probably by BSA has had opening lever modified and lengthened with finger hook at tip. Engraved sterling silver capped pistol grip buttstock made of AA Fancy Texas walnut (consignor states) measures 14" over Neidner checkered steel buttplate. Stock features Monte Carlos comb with large swept shadow line right hand cheekpiece. Matching beavertail forend with rosewood tip and white line spacer screws to barrel through rosewood diamond on bottom. "L. Mews" stamp is in barrel channel. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun comes in plastic foam lined case containing information sheet stating rifle was built for David Carl Dickson in 1973. CONDITION: very fine as custom finished retaining essentially all glossy blue on metal and fine hand rubbed oil finish on wood. Both with only a very few handling and assembly marks. Bore is bright and shiny. Mechanically good. Scope has some minor marks in exterior lacquer; optically clear. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection. (25-6446/MGM). MODERN. $1,200-1,800.
